Clumsy Baby Pandas at Chengdu Giant Panda Research Base

Finally, I managed to edit all my Panda videos into one! It’s still 20 minutes long, but I could watch Pandas the whole day.

Actually, these Panda videos were the first reason for me to start editing all my videos. And I was really looking for a programm where I could make one Panda video and share it for my friends and family to watch and drool over the cuteness of these animals <3

And I don’t wanna withhold this video from you guys either, so here it is:

What about you guys? How much do you love Pandas? Have you ever seen a Panda?

Thanks for reading and watching!

Then, there is the peak! Again, breathtaking views! Hong Kong is just incredible!

Check it out for yourself if you don’t believe me!

As always, thanks for reading and watching!

P.S.: I have a huge announcement tomorrow evening! So stick around for that!

Magic of Cappadocia: Day 2

Thursday, September 15th, 2016:

4.30 am – That’s how early the day started for me. I had to get up in the early and cool hours of the morning to get ready for my balloon flight. I should be picked up at 5 am in front of the hotel and then they brought us to the balloon base where the payment would take place and a breakfast was served. The breakfast room slowly filled up with many people from all over the world.

The breakfast was light with some sweet pastry and fruits, and coffee and juice for drinks. I finished quickly and couldn’t wait to finally go.

At around 6 we were supposed to get into the mini busses. After an approximately 10 minutes ride, we arrived at the place where all the balloons were blown up with fire. It looked magnificent with the bright warmth of the fire against the dark dawn of the morning.

For your information, I booked my flight via Butterfly Balloons. It is not as expensive as Voyager or Royal, but it offers everything that the other companies do as well. It was 100€ as opposed to 180€ or more from other companies. I booked the one for 16 people. There are 4 squares in one basket and there are 4 people in each square. It gets a bit stuffy, but it is fun getting to know all the people after landing.

We took flight before dawn, at abou 6.20 am. the flight lasts for one hour. Watching the sunset from atop the balloon was one of the most unbelievable things I have seen and done, especially against a moon-like fairytale landscape like the one in Cappadocia makes you immediately feel like living on a different planet.

I also took some photos, although they can never do justice to the real picture you get.

After landing, we had a champagne celebration with strawberries and some little cakes. We also got our flight certificates with our names on it :) That was a very nice gesture. I don’t regret any cent I spent for that flight, and I can really recommend anyone to take a balloon flight anywhere, especially in a place like Cappadocia.

We were allowed to walk on the balloon after landing :D

After chatting with the other people and our pilot who was very nice and had a fun sense of humour, we were dropped off in front of our hostels again. It was only about 8 am. I had my second breakfast at the hotel and relaxed a bit before going for the next sight.

We wanted to go to the Göreme Open Air National Park. It is a good place to start when you want to admire the different stone formations and also wanna go inside some of the ancient caves that christians used to live in. It can be very interesting at the beginning, but I wouldn’t recommend you to stay there for hours. Göreme has many other sights to offer.

I was feeling very dizzy that morning, and needed another coffee and cake break at the exit of the park. Being sleepless is not a good condition if you wanna explore a place like Cappadocia.

Anyway, after the national park visit we wanted to see some valleys (love valley, red valley, fairy chimneys,…). They are all a part of the red tour as it was explained to us by our hotel receptionist. We asked a taxi driver how to get to the red valley, and he said that it was quite far away, a few kilometres and that we couldn’t walk there. So he offered us a deal: We should pay 50 lira (like 20 €) and he would drive us to all the stations of the red tour. We agreed and he drove us around. It was cheaper than a tour and we had more freedom to stay as long as we wanted, but of course, the background info was missing a bit, although the driver did know quite a few things. However, it was an advantage that we were turkish people. It would at least be 3 times more expensive if you were a foreigner.

Here are some pictures of the 3 stops we visited:

I would recommend the fairy chimney park that you can see on the last 3 pictures. You can walk around those huge stone formations and climb inside some of those.

After our tour, the driver also took us to a ceramic shop and then to a carpet shop. The latter one is way too expensive so we only had a short look. At the ceramic shop you can also find some cheaper pieces, as well as some expensive stuff. Everything is handmade and so beautifully delicate. Here are some snapshots:

When we returned to the hotel, the weather started to get a bit gloomy. Actually, we weren’t finished yet, we still wanted to see Uchisar Castle but we had to take a bus there, and by the time we arrived there, it had started to rain. It was also a bit cold, so it was quite gloomy, and the pictures didn’t turn out very well:

Looks like a face :’D

On top of the Castle, we could have a view over the vast little town of Uchisar.

Uchisar Castle was not as interesting as I had imagined. There are some small rooms you can see, but other than those few ones, it is only going up to the roof.

After exiting the castle, we found some street vendors, selling dried fruits and nuts. we bought a few bags and left to take the bus back to our hotel.

We rested a little bit in our room before heading out for dinner. We found a restaurant that also sold Pide and sat down there. Actually, the taxi driver recommend this and we wanted to try it out. They also had the beef pottery here, but since I had that the other day, I opted for my other favourite dish: Pide

After the meal, we were too tired to even go to another place to have dessert or a coffee. We slowly walked back and fell asleep immediately.

The next day should be our final full day in this beautiful place. It is gonna be full of activities though, so don’t worry :)

Thanks for exploring with me.

Travel well!

Chanel Advert starring Pharrell Williams and Cara Delevingne

Have you seen this video? The new Chanel advert with the singer Pharrell Williams and the Supermodel and It-Girl Cara Delevingne? I am not such a huge fan of adverts actually, but this one is just WOW! Amazing! It is almost like a short movie, or rather a short musical movie. I guess 2014 was great year for Pharrell Williams. And I really love Cara’s voice *o* WOW! I would definitely listen to her album if she’d bring one out. And after seeing this, I could imagine that.

If you want to see something unique, different and magical as well, you should definitely watch this advert.

The Neighbourhood – Sweather Weather

I love this song! I saw how everyone posted it on Facebook and then my friend sent it to me. I fell in love with this song, the lyrics and the voice of the singer. I listened to all their songs on Spotify, and I couldn’t get enough of their songs, especially this, and their newest one, #icanteven together with the rapper French Montana. That song especially sounds like The Weeknd <3 I am in love with this band, and I want more!

Here are the overly amazing lyrics to this song:

All I am is a man
I want the world in my hands
I hate the beach
But I stand in California with my toes in the sand
Use the sleeves of my sweater
Let’s have an adventure
Head in the clouds but my gravity’s centered
Touch my neck and I’ll touch yours
You in those little high waisted shorts, oh

She knows what I think about
And what I think about
One love, two mouths
One love, one house
No shirt, no blouse
Just us, you find out
Nothing that I wouldn’t wanna tell you about no

‘Cause it’s too cold whoa
For you here and now
So let me hold whoa
Both your hands in the holes of my sweater

And if I may just take your breath away
I don’t mind if there’s not much to say
Sometimes the silence guides our minds to
So move to a place so far away
The goosebumps start to raise
The minute that my left hand meets your waist
And then I watch your face
Put my finger on your tongue
‘Cause you love the taste yeah
These hearts adore,
Every other beat the other one beats for
Inside this place is warm
Outside it starts to pour

Coming down
One love, two mouths
One love, one house
No shirt, no blouse
Just us, you find out
Nothing that I wouldn’t wanna tell you about, no, no, no

‘Cause it’s too cold whoa
For you here and now
So let me hold whoa
Both your hands in the holes of my sweater

It’s too cold,
It’s too cold
The holes of my sweater…

Lorde – Ribs

I am sorry that I haven’t posted for days now, but I was quite busy the last week. I was busy with organizing our first cocktail and fruits sale at university. Then, I had to prepare a presentation. And at the weekend, I was at Frankfurt. Post is coming soon :)
But first, I want to share a video from my new favorite singer of the week. I have been listening to Lorde for days and weeks now. And I can’t get enough of that young woman. I had difficulties deciding upon a favorite song of her, after opting for this one. The music, the rhythm of this song gives me chills. The lyrics are beautiful and I can identify myself perfectly with it. And the repetitions are cleverly thought out. Well done Lorde!
Here are the Lyrics:

The drink you spilt all over me
“Lover’s Spit” left on repeat
My mum and dad let me stay home
It drives you crazy getting old

We can talk it so good
We can make it so divine
We can talk it good, how you wish it would be all the time

The drink you spilt all over me
“Lover’s Spit” left on repeat
My mum and dad let me stay home
It drives you crazy getting old

The drink you spilt all over me
“Lover’s Spit” left on repeat
My mum and dad let me stay home
It drives you crazy getting old

This dream isn’t feeling sweet
We’re reeling through the midnight streets
And I’ve never felt more alone
It feels so scary getting old

We can talk it so good
We can make it so divine
We can talk it good, how you wish it would be all the time

This dream isn’t feeling sweet
We’re reeling through the midnight streets
And I’ve never felt more alone
Feels so scary getting old

This dream isn’t feeling sweet
We’re reeling through the midnight streets
And I’ve never felt more alone
Feels so scary getting old

I want them back (I want them back)
The minds we had (the minds we had)
How all the thoughts (how all the thoughts)
Moved round our heads (move round our heads)

I want them back (I want them back)
The minds we had (the minds we had)
It’s not enough to feel the lack (I want them back, I want them back)
I want ’em

You’re the only friend I need (you’re the only friend I need)
Sharing beds like little kids (sharing beds like little kids)
And laughing ’til our ribs get tough (and laughing ’til our ribs get tough)
But that will never be enough (but that will never be enough)

You’re the only friend I need (you’re the only friend I need)
Sharing beds like little kids (sharing beds like little kids)
And laughing ’til our ribs get tough (and laughing ’til our ribs get tough)
But that will never be enough (but that will never be enough)

That will never be enough
That will never be enough
That will never be enough
That will never be enough
That will never be enough

Banks – Waiting Game

I just discovered this R’n’B artist after reading about her in a magazine yesterday, and I fell in love with her voice. It is like a mixture between Lorde and Jhene Aiko, I love it! You definitely have to listen to that song. Somehow, it seems like I have heard this song before, in a movie or something like that. I can’t exactly recall.

Here are the lyrics:

I’m thinking it over
The way you make me feel all sexy but it’s causing me shame
I wanna lean on your shoulder
I wish I was in love but I don’t wanna cause any pain
And if I’m feeling like I’m even, we’ve got nothing to gain

What if I never even see you cuz we’re both on a stage
Don’t tell me listen to your song because it isn’t the same
I don’t wanna say your love is a waiting game

Baby I’m thinking it over
What if the way we started made it something cursed from the start
What if it only gets colder
Would you still wrap me up and tell me that you think this was smart
Cuz lately I’ve been scared of even thinking ’bout where we are

What if I never even see you cuz we’re both on a stage
Don’t tell me listen to your song because it isn’t the same
I don’t wanna say your love is a waiting game
What if I never even see you cuz we’re both on a stage
Don’t tell me listen to your song because it isn’t the same
I don’t wanna say your love is a waiting gameI’m thinking it over
The way you make me feel all sexy but it’s causing me shame

Don’t tell me listen to your song because it isn’t the same
I don’t wanna say your love is a waiting game

A-Z Challenge Day 30: Z like Zarvos Marcelo, Zaz, Zed’s Dead,

Today is unfortunately the last day of this challenge. It went by so fast! I can’t believe it! Today, I will post some of my favorite Z-letter artists. Let me first tell you that I had quite some difficutlies with finding any artists with Z that I actually liked. To be honest I don’t kow them so well. But, let’s just begin and see what comes out :)

1) Zarvos Marcelo

Image

Birth Name: Marcelo Uchoa Zarvos

Born in: 1969. Sao Paulo, Brazil.

Genre(s): Classic

Discography: Dualism (1994), Labyrinths (1997), Music Journal (2000)

I know Zarvos from the movie Remember Me with Robert Pattinson. The movie was so sad and beautiful. I cried at the end. And the music contributed to it quite a lot. If you want to listen to his beautiful music, here you go:

Caroline

Other Songs I like: Wake Up Call, Remember Me, …

2) Zaz:

Image

Birth Name: Isabelle Geffroy

Born in: 1 May, 1980. Tours, Paris.

Genre(s): Jazz, Chanson

Discography: ZAZ (2010), Recto Verso (2013)

Of course everyone knows her song Je Veux, which was a super hit about 3 years ago. I loved that song. It will always remind me of the easiness of my summer holidays :) Here is a nice song of her.

On ira

Other Songs I like: Je veux, Comme ci comme ca, La fete, …

3) Zed’s Dead:

Image

Discography: Rudeboy (2010), Adrenaline (2012), Victor EP (2012), The Living Dead (2012), Hot Sauce (2013)

I don’t know from where I know this electro duo, but they are named after a phrase from my all-time favorite movie Pulp Fiction. I know that this duo has an awesome sound. It is nice to party to, but also to chill to, or even to study :) Of course, there are typical features of dubstep to it, but also some glitch elements which are good to dance to. I actually like it. It has its own voice. Here is an example.

Hadouken

Other Songs I like: Hit Me, Oh No,…

This letter went by so fast today. It was the final, and one of the most difficult letters for this challenge. I have to admit that I don’t regularly listen to any of those artists mentioned here. I used to listen to Zarvos’ OST for Remember Me very often, and I really likee Zaz’s song. Zed’s Dead is quite new for me, so I can say that I quite seldom listen to those artists.

A-Z Challenge Day 29: Y like Yann Tiersen, Yeah Yeah Yeahs

Today the second-last day of this challenge, and we have the letter Y for today, and I again have only two artist for today, Yann Tiersen and Yeah Yeah Yeahs which I am already looking forward for since they belong to my most favorite bands ;) So, without further ado, let’s begin!

1) Yann Tiersen:

Image

Birth Name: Yann Pierre Tiersen

Born in: 23 June, 1970. Brest, Brittany, France.

Genre(s): Minimalist, Avant-garde, Nouvelle Chanson

Discography (Total 17): La valse des monstres (1995), Tout est calme (1999), Le fabuleux destin d’Amelie Poulain (2001), Goodbye, Lenin (2003), Les Retrouvailles (2005),…

Yann Tiersen, mostly known from the soundrack of the movie Le fabuleus destin d’Amelie Poulain, is a french composer and multi instrumentalist. I have to admit that the first time I heard this was when an old classmate of mine began to play this on the piano. It was during break, and I went to the music room to study maths, but my classmate was already there, playing the piano. It was really calming to listen to him play the piano while I tried to understand maths :’D I was so astonished by the music that I had to ask him about who the composer of that piece was. He told me it was Yann Tiersen, and after looking him up I remembered the movie. I get goosebumps everytime I hear that song. It is this one:

Comptine d’un Autre Ètè

Other Songs I like: La valse d’Amelie, The Drowned Girl, Naomi, Les enfants, Childhood(1), Summer 78, …

2) Yeah Yeah Yeahs:

Image

Members: Karen O (Vocals), Nick Zinner (Guitar), Brian Chase (Drums)

Formed in: 2000. New York City, USA.

Genre(s): Art-punk, Indie Rock, Alternative Rock, Dance-Punk

Discography: Fever to Tell (2003), Show Your Bones (2006), It’s Blitz! (2009), Mosquito (2013)

I love the Yeah Yeah Yeahs! Their music is crazy, their lyrics are so good to sing along. And although it is rock, you can perfectly dance to them :) Karen O. is just so amazing in my eyes! Her style is unique. I even tried to imitate her crazy, coloured style. Back when I was 17, 18 I got my hair cut just like hers, and wore only colored clothes: Red tights, purple skirt, and yellow shirt with a pink top underneath :’D I basically invented colour blocking back then :’D  It is really quite hard to decide upon one song to choose, but here it is:

Gold Lion

Other Songs I like: Y-Control, Heads will roll, Date with the night, Pins, Maps, No No No, Cold Light, Phenomena, Dragon Queen, Runaway, Zero, Soft shock, …

So, this was it for today! I hope you enjoyed my selection for the letter Y. It was smaller today, but with two great artists, in my opinion :)

Which are your most favorite Y-letter artist? What songs do you like?

Thanks for reading!
