Huge announcement!

Yesterday evening/this night was a great night! I did something amazing! The first step into a bigger plan I have been thinking about since April!

Last night, I was browsing through skyscanner and I came across cheap flights to Tokyo! Then, on Airfrance, I found an amazing flight, from Frankfurt to Tokyo! For 527 € two ways! This was like a sign sent from heaven (okay, I’m exaggerrating! :’D) But this was the first time that I found a flight from a good airline, with the perfect flying times, short layover that also had a great price! I couldn’t believe it! Usually, I was seeing flights for around 700€. There were also cheaper ones for around 400 with AirChina, Aeroflot and Allitalia and I have heard not so good things about them, or not many reviews.

So last night, I was surprised to see that perfect flight from Airfrance, with only a 1.30h layover in Paris <3

I knew I had to book it! I KNEW IT! Everything was going perfectly! I was even able to pay with paypal! Everything happened so smoothly that I soon found myself clicking on the ‘pay’ button and there it was: “Airfrance wishes you a pleasant flight!” And on the right side there was my booking code staring at me! And my itinerary sent to my e-mail!

It’s official now:

On December 7th, at 10:25 am I will be boarding my plane from Frankfurt to Paris! And then, at 1.55 pm I will be boarding my plane from Paris to Tokyo! I can’t believe it! I will be landing in Tokyo at a perfect time! 9.30 am! My plan is to sleep well so that I can explore the city a little bit when I arrive! Even if I don’t sleep, I think I will be too pumped to not go out exploring!

I am soooo excited already, that I still can’t believe what I did! My heart beats up to my throat when I think about it!

And again, this is proof that nothing is impossible! You JUST have to DO IT! Like our dear Shia taught us! :D

Of course, there is still quite a long way for me to get my work and travel visa. Here are the things I need to hand in:

√ Have a valid passport

Ο A fully filled out application form (found on the website of the designated embassy)

√ ID Photo not older than 6 months

√ Flight tickets (two ways)

Ο Financial Verification of at least 2000€

Ο Travel insurance

√ Travel plan (layout found on the website of the embassy)

√ CV

√ Motivational letter

= 6/9 done!

Filling out the form is actually the easiest step in the list, but strangely, I haven’t done it yet :D The next thing I will do is getting the travel insurance together with my father since he has a membership at a company and he gets a huge discount there.

Saving up the 2000€ will be the hardest part I guess, but I am positive that at the end of October, I should have the money together!

There are 3 more things that I have to do which are not asked for the visa but things that I have to do to survive in Japan:

  • Find an accomodation
  • Register in Tokyo as a citizen (including opening a bank account and getting a SIM card)
  • Find a job!

Of course, I will have to organize the accomodation in advance which I will do tomorrow and I am intending to finish as well!

The following two points are mostly just possbile as soon as I get there.

Also, at the weekend, my friend will bring back my japanese textbook, so my future weekends will be all about studying :D I’m kind of looking forward to that :)

I hope I didn’t bore you with this blog post! For me, it’s just super exciting, I had to share it here! Even if it’s only for me to track my achievements :)

I hope you enjoyed this!

If you have any recommendations about work and travel (a.k.a. working holiday) or Tokyo or both, please let me know in the comments :)

Weekly Wonders: I nearly caught Justin Bieber’s Yeezy!!!

Last weekend was insane! I was at the Wireless festival in Frankfurt, and I never imagined to experience the crazy stuff I did.

First of all, The rest of the week before the festival was rather calm. The only exciting thing that happened was the beginning of the sales in various shops like Zara and Mango. Of course I did some shopping :’D More about that at the end of this week.

I also came across a beautiful rose garden and  had to take an instagram picture.

  • Saturday, June 24th

After that, the long-awaited festival arrived and with that, two days filled with worldstars performing on one stage.

On Saturday, it was mainly german rappers like Materia and Genetikk. There weren’t many artists we wanted to see that day, and Rae Sremmurd had cancelled weeks ago as well, so that was a huge disappointment for us since he was one of the main reasons for us to go there.

During the breaks, we went outside to explore the area, take some photos and eat something. My friend and me decided to get some rolled ice cream which is a food trend now. The queue was endless and we stayed in line for one and a half hours in total. While I was standing there though, I suddenly saw a group of girls asking a stranger to take photos of them. Then I noticed that two of those girls were famous german youtubers. I couldn’t believe my eyes. Just 5 minutes ago, I was talking about one of them, and now she was standing in front of me. Of course I had to ask for a picture :’D It’s the picture with the readhead :’D She is one of the funniest youtubers ever :’D

After we were finished with eating and roaming, we went back inside to secure some spots until the headliner at 9.45pm who was The Weeknd for that day. Unfortunately, I don’t have any photos of him, because my phone died. It was amazing although he was around 20 minutes too late and finished 5 minutes too early. Plus, he always stayed in the back of the stage :/ I enjoyed his starboy tour performance in Cologne way more than the festival performance.

By the end of the night, I was shattered. Everything was hurting, including my right eye. I stayed at my friend Giulia’s house, and after chatting for a while in the middle of the night, I had to excuse myself and go to bed.

  • Sunday, June 25th

We decided to meet at 12.30 at noon to walk to the festival area. The first performance was at 1.55 pm by german trap rapper Rin. My friends were die hard fans, and I had to say that he was pretty good. Actually, Lil Uzi Vert should be performing, but he cancelled last minute, so they had to arrange someone different. Rin is less popular of course, but there were still some fans of him.

Of course, everyone was waiting for Justin Bieber’s performance in the evening that day, so the place was filled with Beliebers. The crowd got tighter and tighter, and people were pushing us forward all the time.

We saw so many more artists perform, including Machine Gun Kelly, Jess Glyne, Sean Paul, until we were finally waiting the last minutes for Travis Scott. He was one of the reasons I went to that concert. And he was freaking awesome!!!!! He leaned in to the crowd all the time and he even made one of his fans rap. As a thank you he gave her his hat.

Of course the show was over too soon, but it was about time for us to get out to get some fresh air, drinks and food. We were standing in the crowd from 1pm – 7pm!!! 6 HOURS!!!

We had some pizza and water before getting inside to get some good spots for Justin Bieber. We didn’t want to be too much at the front, so we were standing rather at the back right side of the first block. At that moment, we didn’t know that this was the most perfect spot.

Justin Bieber was even earlier than on time. He entered the stage at 9.26 pm (4 minutes earlier than scheduled), and his performance was lit! It was probably the most professional performance of that festival. I liked how he was just walking around the stage and trying to look his fans straight into their eyes. When he was not dancing of course. His voice is actually pretty amazing life. I just felt like he was way better life than on audio.

Anway, I was dancing, singing and screaming together with the other beliebers, when I realized that he was coming to an end. It was getting weird now, because he started taking off his shoes (white Yeezy) and throwing them into the crowd. Into OUR DIRECTION!!!! The first one came flying into my face and I kept staring at how he was throwing away the second Yeezy. The crowd was raging by now and the girls around me were running, pushing, falling to the ground and crying. A tall guy who was standing behind me caught the he first Yeezy. The second one flew to the second block right behind us.

GUYS!!!! I just missed the jackpot of my life! The right Yeezy is on ebay now, selling for 6,5K!!!! And it’s still going until next week Tuesday. Here, you can have a look.

I think I have never regretted anything more than not catching Justin Bieber’s Yeezy. I would be planning my asia trip now. I could be buying a new camera and a Macbook with that money. My life would be changed.

Can’t believe it! I was centimeters aways from catching it. It flew right past my head :'( How did I not jump??!?! WHY??!?!?

I guess in that moment, I was just too perplexed, suprised, astonished to move anything, neither brain nor body.

I’ve gotta say that Justin Bieber gave me a once-in-a-lifetime experience here. It was one of the most unique and energetic, and professional performances I have seen so far. Everything was thought-through, but at the same time full of heart.

I am aware that JB treated his fans badly in the past, but I think that most of his performances were like the one that I witnessed at the weekend. I am not suprised why his fans love him so much now. I might even commit to becoming a Belieber as well. :’D

Anyway, I took a video of that shoe, and now I put it on youtube. You can watch it here:

After that exciting turn of events, we left the concert area and headed back to the car and drove back home on an 2-hour ride.

Although we were a bit disappointed that we didn’t catch Justin’s Yeezys, we were still content about what we got to experience at the festival.

Can’t wait for the next festival experience to come :D

I hope your weekend was just as eventful as mine.

Thanks for reading and see you next week!

Top 5 Christmas Markets to visit in Germany

It’s Christmas Market season in Germany right now which means that famous city centres all around the country are lit up and decorated  for about 1-4 weeks of Pre-Christmas Celebrations.

I have been living in Germany since my birth and I have spent almost every winter at my hometown, often going to Christmas markets around the place.

I haven’t been at every Christmas market, so this list is a mixture of the ones I have been to and the ones I would like to visit one day.

The order has no significance whatsoever:

1. Stuttgarter Weihnachtsmarkt (Christmas Market Stuttgart):

The first part of the Christmas market in Stuttgart starts in the middle of the shopping street Königstraße, and it goes on into the market square which is actually quite big and very beautiful.

Dates: 23.11.-23-12.2016

Opening Hours:
Monday – Thursday: 10am – 9pm
Friday – Saturday:     10am – 10pm
Sunday:                        11am –  9pm
Opening Day (November23rd): 5pm – 9pm
Shopping Night (December 17th): 10am – 10.30pm

Location: Marktpl., 70174 Stuttgart

2. Esslinger Mittelalter – und Weihnachtsmarkt (Middle age and Christmas Market Esslingen):

This one is a very special Christmas Market. It is sprawled through the old city of Esslingen and one part consists of a middle age market with torches that light up the streets, dishes and snacks from that time, antique clothing pieces and activities like archery.

Dates: 22.11. – 22.12.2016

Opening Hours:
Opening Day (November 22nd): 5pm – 8.30pm
Daily: 11am – 8.30pm
Closing Day (December 22nd): 11am – 6pm

Location:  Rathauspl., 73728 Esslingen am Neckar

3. Dresdner Striezelmarkt (Christmas Market Dresden):

Dresden is actually a city I have never been to, but would like to visit. The perfect combination for a city trip would thus be in December I guess.
In general, you can never do anything wrong with visiting Germany during December, because it is one of the most beautiful months to meet this country.

Dates: 24.11. – 24-12.2016

Opening hours:
Daily: 10am – 9pm
Opening Day (November 24th) 4am – 9pm
Sternstunden (December 9th) 10am – 11pm
Closing Day (December 24th) 10am – 2pm

Location: Altmarkt, 01067 Dresden

4. Nürnberger Weihnachtsmarkt (Christmas Market Nürnber):

Nürnberg might as well be called the hometown of Christmas markets and Ginger bread. As a huge ginger bread fanatic, this Christmas Market is on my to-be-visited list, and should be on yours as well if you wanna come to Germany during Christmas-market season.

Dates: 25.11. – 24.12.2016

Opening Hours:
Monday – Sunday: 10 am – 9pm
Christmas Eve 24.12.:10 am – 2 pm

Location:  Hauptmarkt, 90022 Nürnberg

5. Frankfurter Weihnachtsmarkt (Christmas Market Frankfurt):

I have been to Frankfurt so many times, but I was never lucky enough to be there during the Christmas Market. Although Frankfurt is a very metropolitan city with skycrapers, it didn’t lose its historical side either.

Dates: 23.11.-22.12.2016

Opening Hours:
Monday-Saturday: 10 am – 9pm
Sunday                       11 am  – 9pm

Location: Römerberg, Paulsplatz, Mainkai, Hauptwache, Friedrich-Stoltze-Platz

I hope you enjoyed this little blog post about the Top 5 Christmas Markets in Germany where you can sip on some Glühwein (mulled wine) and eat some german delicacies.

Have you ever been to a Christmas Market in Germany or somewhere else? Did you like it? What was your highlight?

January Wrap Up

I have already posted this few hours earlier but I don’t know what happened that the blog post disappeared >< That’s the first time this happened to me here. How can it disappear??!?! So that’s why I will only make this post very short.

Here is what I did in January:

  • Went shopping and bought a new purse and a few weeks later I bought Dave Eggers’ The Circle.

IMG_20150103_211059 IMG_20150130_184219

  • went to an All-You-Can-Eat buffet restaurant with my mum, sister and brother. It was sooo yummy!

  • Went to Frankfurt for an AIESEC preparation seminar. Met a lot of new people and learned many important things about culture and prejudices. Stayed there for 2 days at the weekend and they even provided food for us, except for the dinner on sunday, because the seminar was already over in the late afternoon, so I went to town for donburi at a japanese restaurant. It was so good!
The Goethe University in Frankfurt. Main Building
The famous Body of Knowledge statue at the Goethe University in Frankfurt.
Donburi at the Japanese Restaurant Mosh Mosh.
Green Tea Ice Cream at Mosh Mosh.
  • Decided upon a title for my Bachelor thesis now: “Racism and Fascism in J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter series”. I also bought and lent some books for that by now.

What I read in January:

  • The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien: 5/5 stars – A must read for fantasy fans! I really was sad after finishing this book. I felt like something was missing. I liked it more than the LotR series.

  • The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern: 4/5 stars – A beautiful story, a magical world, and an enchanting circus I wish would exist in our world. Favorite characters were Tsukiko, the twins especially Poppy, Chandresh and Herr Thiesen. The idea with the scarf was wonderful!

  • Riddley Walker by Russel Hoban: 2/5 stars – The writing style destroyed the reading experience, although there were some funny sentences. It is a pity that it is such a book which is hard to read, since the theme of the novel is very interesting. It is set in a futuristic world that distinguishes itself not by being modern, but by being regressed into a Stone Age setting because a nuclear explosion as destroyed the modern civilization as we know it.

  • The Wisdom of Harry Potter: What our Favourite Hero Teaches us About Moral Choices by Edmund M. Kern: 4/5 stars – Not only hardcore Harry Potter fans will enjoy this. It is both informative and entertaining.

Jack White Concert, 14. November 2014, Frankfurt

I know it is a bit late for this post, but better late than never. I might have mentioned that I would go to the Jack White concert in November. And last week, it finally was time for it. I would go there alone, but my friend Giuli wanted to go to Frankfurt as well, so she offered to go there by car and take me with her. On Friday, at about 12.30 pm, we hit the road. Luckily, we were so early, because at about 2.30 pm there was a traffic jam which last almost 2 hours >< It was horrible!! We had actually planned to walk around the city a little bit, and Giuli also wanted to visit her friends at Nintendo, but then we just arrived shortly before 6 pm. I wanted to be in front of the Alte Oper at 6 actually, so we hurried there. There was no reason to stress out, because Jack White fans aren’t as hyped as other ones. I waited there and took a few pictures.

Frankfurt Skyline
Alte Oper. The opera building where Jack White played

Soon, it was finally 7pm and we were let inside. I hurried inside and together with some other girls, we found an elevator that took us to the 3rd floor. There, we had to wait another 30 minutes before we could be let inside the room. It was only for the people who had a ticket for standing. But finally, they let us in, and everyone was running now :’D I managed to stay in the 5th row!!!! SO AMAZING!! I had a good view, and it got better when a guy offered me to stand in front of him, because I was so small :’D Then we also talked a little bit about Jack White and all his musical projects he had. Soon, it was finally time for the Supporting Act. It was a band called Lucius, and they were pretty awesome!!!

Here is a video:

The two singers had such beautiful voices, and the usage of different kinds of percussion was amazing! It was just my kind of music, and I wasn’t surprised at all, because there was nothing less to expect by a genius like Jack White :)

2014-11-14 20.01.55

2014-11-14 20.06.18

They played until about 8.45 pm and then, we had to wait until 9.30 again. After that, a man came and stood in front of the curtains (The curtains were closed), and told us that we shouldn’t take photos of the concert o.O It would be unfair if people behind us wouldn’t see anything, if the concert was filmed, or photos were taken. I mean, WTF??!?! But when everyone is clapping and rocking, we can see a lot or what??? I mean, if someone is taking a picture, the person behind you can still see what’s going on because of the screen. But when everyone is clapping with their hands in the air, no one sees anything. He also told us that it was Jack White’s wish, and that they also have a personal photographer, who will take a lot of photos and put them online, so we can download them. But I just ignored this “rule”. I mean, I pay for that concert, then I also want to take pictures for myself. I want to show people the photos I MYSELF have taken, and not a professional photo from the internet. Then no one would believe that I was there… -.- I have never heard anything like that at a concert… But this also was so typical for Jack White. I somehow expected something like this. I think he has something against modern technology.

Well, when Jack finally entered the stage, I couldn’t realize it at first. He looked so different and was rocking around and dancing, with his guitar in his hands *o* OMG I COULDN’T BELIEVE THIS!

All in all the concert was just unbelievably AH-MAZING! The only thing that I disliked was the tune of Jack White’s microfone. I am not sure if it was because of the place, because it actually is an opera saloon, but his voice was, compared to the instruments a little bit too quiet. Still, the show was great, and the way he played his guitar… OMG NO WORDS!!!

Then, at one point, he did something unusual. Suddenly, he crossed his arms in front of him, and denied to continue playing. Then, someone from the audience shouted a title of a song, and then he replied: “It’s my show, motherfucker!” :’D I was laughing by then, but I think he really was pissed off and he meant it seriously :’D

Well, after he played about an hour, he went off the stage and there was an encore a few minutes later. He went on for 30 minutes more. The final song was Seven Nation Army *o* Anyway, he played more White Stripes songs. He didn’t play any song from The Raconteurs or The Dead Weather. He also didn’t play many songs from his first album Blunderbuss, which was a bit sad, because I love that album, more then the new Album Lazaretto. But still, I was so happy that he played many White Stripes songs, because I have always wanted to see them live, but never could :'( At least, I could listen to a few songs of them, even if it was without Meg White…

Well, at about 11pm the concert was over. I really didn’t want to leave, but had to. I would definitely go to another concert of him again.

Here are a few pictures I have taken:

Korean Food, Indie Party, Turkish Breakfast

Reading this title, you might wonder whether I have been to Seoul, London, and Istanbul consecutively. Unfortunately, I don’t have the money for that, but that shouldn’t be a problem if you can visit one of the most international cities in Germany, and obviously the most central city of Europe, Frankfurt :)

I have stopped counting how often I have already been to FFM (Frankfurt am Main), but every time I visit that city, I see and experience new things. This time, we went to visit ouf friend Giulia who is doing an internship at Nintendo there. Of course we couldn’t walk into the Nintendo company, that’s not allowed for visitors, but they are closed at the weekend anyway :) So, my friend had free time to pick us up and spend some time with us. At first, we went to take a snack with us from Simit Saray, a turkish bakery chain that sells ring shaped sesame pastry, and different kinds of sandwiches and samosas as well. With our snacks, we went to sit next to the Main river in order to chat, eat and relax.

The sandwich was super tasty, and I love fritz limo drinks <3

A friend from Giuli also joined us later. Her name is Agne, and she also does an internship at Nintendo together with Giulia. She is from England, so I loved her accent. She brought strawberries, orange juice and beer, and we got to know each other as well. It was a nice afternoon by the river Main. It also was quite nice observing the surfers and boats passing us by :)

And there were some funny animals

I don’t know what kind of birds these are, but they also swim in the river :)

After staying by the river from about 2-5pm, we parted with Agne to go Giuli’s flat so that we could put our bags into her room and prepare for the korean restaurant. It is close to where she lives. We could even walk there :)

When we entered the restaurant, the owner already awaited us because Giuli told him before that she would bring guests. She is already a regular there :’D

We ordered Bibimbap, and one Zap Chae (glass noodles) into the middle. That was quite a lot to eat, because we also got free soup and a lot of garnish as you can see on this photo.

The free garnish :) Kimchi is also included in it. It wasn’t that spicy actually.
My bibimbap, the zap chae and campari orange in the background :)
The whole table :’D

We were so full afterwards! There is a lot of green food in the korean cuisine, but also a lot of meat and spicy things. The meat was too fatty for my taste I have to admit, but you can also order a bibimbap without the meat. Next time, I will do that I think. There is also a hot spice in the dish, but you have to mingle the dish properly, then it won’t be too spicy :) I really liked the Bibimbap, but I somehow couldn’t get to like the Zap Chae. The noodles felt and tasted quite slimy. And the vegetables are mostly cooked without oil or anything. That’s why koreans often put hot spice into their dishes to give them taste. Although it is quite healthy to cook vegetables without adding any oil, it can taste like nothing if you don’t like spicy so much. The soup was a seaweed soup with octopus tentacles in it, so I didn’t touch it. I don’t like soups in general. The only soup I like is lentils soup. And I don’t like seaweed so much neither. The restaurant was pricey, but all korean restaurants are. The food was plenty, we couldn’t finish everything, although we were 3 people, but the Bibimbap is worth another go, but without meat for the next time :D

After we paid and wanted to set off, the owner called us back and offered us some honeydew melon *o* that was sooo yummy!!

While we were eating, the Germany worldcup match was also playing. When we wanted to go to the public viewing, the streets were quite empty. We met Agnes on the way as well, and when we finally arrived at the public viewing, we made it to the more exciting second half.

Unfortunately, Germany didn’t win that day, but it was a draw. After the game, we went to a club named Zoom. That club was literally playing my playlist! At first, they rather began with 90s R’n’B and Indie Pop. But soon they played some awesome Rock songs from Yeah Yeah Yeahs and MGMT. My sister disliked the club at first, and was hanging on her phone all the time which annoyed me a lot. But soon they played a lot of Hip Hop. Towards the end, they even played Drake and The Weeknd *o* I really loooveeed loved loved that club so much!!!

We arrived at Giuli’s flat at about 6 am, and had to wake up after 4 hours again :’D Our bus would leave at 1 pm, so we could have some time for breakfasting at Simit Saray. We had fried eggs with Sucuk (a turkish garlic sausage)

Awww godddd!! It looks so yummy! I am getting hungry again!! One meal, including the fried eggs with sucuk, the sesame rings, and tea, cost exactly 5€. That’s fairly okay :) The taste was amazing! You definitely have to have turkish breakfast here if you appear to visit Simit Saray :)

The weekend, or rather the Saturday in Frankfurt was great fun! We met a lot of new people, and had a great time partying and eating ;D

Looking forward for the next trip for Frankfurt :)

19.02.2014: Drake Live in concert in Frankfurt Germany

On the 19th of February, we prepared to go to Frankfurt for the Drake Concert. Wednesday morning, we set off to the big bus station from where our bus drove off to Frankfurt train station. However, the day started awful. I found out that I didn’t get into Erasmus that day. I was dazzled. We had to wait 20 minutes at the bus station, and then I started to waste my time with crying silently. My sister was confused and sad, too and told me to stop. After a few minutes I somehow calmed down, but  was still gloomy. On the bus I read a few pages but got tired very fast so I slept. On the bus, there were many other young on the bus who were on the way to the Drake Concert.

When we finally arrived in Frankfurt, we tried to waste some time by shopping, walking through the city, and eating something until our friend Pelin came. She had to work, and that’s why she came a bit later. But we fortunately didn’t have much luggage, since we only stayed for one day. After looking in some shops, we decided to go to eat at Vapiano, an Italian restaurant, until our friend Pelin came.

It was very delicious but over too soon. At about 3.30 pm our friend came. We went to her car to put our things inside. Then we shortly looked at H&M because she wanted to buy some clothes she had seen a while ago. After that, we slowly set off to the concert. I decided to forget about Erasmus at first.

It was easy to find our way to that place. We left our jackets in the car, because we didn’t want to spend time with garderobe. We arrived in front of the doors at about 5 pm. At 7 pm they should let us inside, 1 hour before the concert. Fortunately, it wasn’t cold at all. There were already many other people standing in front of the doors. There was no possibility of trying to get to the front, at all. But the time passed fast, and we were finally able to get inside, at about 6 pm. There was a lot of squeezing. When we were let inside, we began to run of course. We had a quite good place. It was the 7th row on the right side of the stage. But we still had almost 2 hours until the concert began. The hall began to fill up more and more, also the tribunes. The disadvantage was that it got hotter, stuffier, and everyone moved closer together. It was harder to breathe now, and I often had Pelin’s thick hair in my face. It was really very uncomfortable. And while we raged about some adolescenting guys, and stinking people, it wasn’t long until 8 pm.

And then, he came first, THE WEEKND! I was a fan of him first, before I began listening to Drake. His voice is so beautiful, and his songs have a distinctive style. I love every song of him. The new album is also great, especially Kiss Land, Professional, and Belong to the World are my favorite songs:

Kiss Land (official video)

Live For (feat. Drake)

Belong to the World:

Yes, he is on a Japan trip it seems :) Unfortunately,  he didn’t sing kiss land or live for. But he sang professional, belong to the world, and wanderlust from the new album. And of course a lot of his older songs.

I have to apologize for the bad quality of the photos. But the Weeknd was so amazing, I totally freaked out. He made us hot with words like “I will be sexy for you tonight, Frankfurt! I will make you come three time s tonight, Frankfurt!” :’D I would go again 1000 times to see him live, and Drake of course, because he just nailed it! I will come to that later.

After 45 minutes of seductive tunes, he shortly goodbye for a short time, because he already told us that he would come back on stage with Drake later. So, we waited 45 minutes, until 9.30pm. Pelin has already gone out, because it was too hot for her. There was also no chance for her to come inside again. And my sister was some rows in front of me. I have no clue how she managed to get so far. However, when Drake hit the stage at 9.30, everyone freaked out. He began with Tuscon Leather. Everything was shining in bright colors except for Drake himself. He could only be seen as a dark shadow, but then he went closer to the audience, and we could see him better. It really was a good start. And after that song, The weeknd already came on stage again for Crew Love. At first I didn’t notice him, although there was clearly his voice singing. I noticed him only after the half of the song was already over.

It was sooooo awesome how they performed together! I can’t belive I saw them both on stage. At the end of the song, we could see how much they like and respect each other as friends.

They are so cute! How Drake smiles! My heart jumped :D I already liked the concert after only the opening act and two songs.

Drake went on with some new songs. He often enough mixed some of his old songs, or his featuring songs with other stars. When he sang a part of From Time, my favorite song on the album, I hoped that Jhene Aiko would appear, but she didn’t :( Instead, he held the microphone to the crowd, so that we could sing her part. I was a bit disappointed, but the show went on. He played every song I can think of, and not think of. I think there was no song he didn’t sing. This was really great. Not everyone can do this.

He also brought a fan, a woman, on stage and sang for her, touched her hair, and then hugged and kissed her. That really was cute from him.

Towards the end of the concert, a big, round catwalk was lowered from the ceiling above us. Drake walked on it and went round the whole catwalk, pointing at people on the tribunes and the crowd, and telling them that he sees them, like this for example: “I see you there with the 95’s sweater”, and so on. This lasted about 30-45 minutes or so. This showed how much he cares for his fans.

Then he went back on stage and rocked with us the last 30 minutes, until 11.30 pm. During the whole concert, especially at the last song which was Started from the Buttom, he didn’t save with explosions and fire shows.

Drake is one of the most fan-friendly stars I know, and experienced myself. His show was truly amazing. He gave everything and more. I can say that this was one of the best concerts I have ever been to. I even have to admit that I actually wasn’t that big of a fan of him. I knew and liked him but I didn’t know many songs from him, yet I have always heard ofmhis concerts being amazing and wondered how they were. So this was a good possibility to go and see for myself. And now I can call myself a real fan after seeing him live. I would go to his  oncerts again and again. I can’t even wait for the next time. And then I want to go to Berlin, because last week, at night, in bed, while I tried to sleep, but looked through instagram instead, I came across some pictures from the Drake Concert in Berlin. And then I read the comments and was shocked: Kanye West appeared as surprise act. Jhene Aiko and Juicy J also appeared. I almost cried. I couldnt belive it. Why did he bring everyone to Berlin? Why couldn’t he bring Jhene Aiko for us, and Kanye West to Berlin, I am not that interested in him. So unfair. But well, for the next time we will keep that in mind. Still, it was a good concert. Something I will never forget in my life.

However, after standing 6 and a half hours, my whole body was a wreck. I could barely walk to the car. And I was so happy when we finally made it home to sleep.

The next day, we had to run to our bus through Frankfurt city :’D but in the end, we made it. There were almost the same people on the bus back as there were on the bus on Wednesday.

I am really sorry that I am so late for posting about it, but I was a bit busy then, with looking for other possibilities than Erasmus, although I am getting a bit lazy and hopeless by now… I will try my best to apply, but I am very hopeless by now. I don’t believe to get to study in an english-speaking country anymore.

A very hopeless end to such a great post. I didn’t mean it. So here is something to look forward to, namely some yummy Cooking posts. They are also quite a while ago, but I still have to post about them. So you can look forward for it.

Thanks for reading :)

Blogging pile-up

It has been weeks since I have posted the last time :S I have a lot of post planned, and I hope I won’t forget about them. The last days and 2 weeks were a bit stressful. Yesterday I had to hand in my portfolio for my Written Communication class, so I was quite a bit stressed out at the weekend. I thought I could have managed it easily over the weekend, but it turned out to be quite time-consuming. And then I had a nervous breakdown on sunday because I couldn’t properly copy and paste my texts together to one pdf data with my tablet, and started crying. It was also only a few days ago that I found out I didn’t get into the Erasmus program for England, so I was near to tears anyway. I was clueless what to do nkw, even thought about not continuing with the course (after having accomplished most of the exercises). But then I thought I could edit them at university. Yesterday, I went to the library of my university to edit my portfolio. I was busy about 2 hours. I almost only copied and pasted everything together, and changed the fonts and so on. I only had to write one page again, because I couldn’t find the word document of those, and only had the pdf. But it didn’t take too long writing them. It was even relaxing compared to editing everything, reading everything through for mistakes, and creating a table of contents. At about 4 pm I was finished, finally. Since yesterday I feel a bit lighter. Although I liked that course, I am quite happy that it’s over now. As soon as I have my grade, I will post some of m stories here, so you can read and comment on them. I didn’t want to post them here earlier, because he could think that I got the stories from the internet or something like that.

Well, now the only thing to do is to write that term paper about “Lolita”.

Oh, and before I forget about the actual purpose of this post,  here is my blogging pile-up:

Movies 2014

– The Oscars (not quite sure if I should do a post before or after the 2nd of March)

– Drake Concert in Frankfurt

– 30-Days-Challenge: pide

– 30-days-challenge: mole cake

– Surprise post featuring a friend who’s also on wordpress :)

– My sister’s birthday (don’t think I posted about it)

– New in! Product review: Tea

– Beyaz show (a turkish Late Night show with the comedian&host Beyazıt) on tour: Stuttgart

So that’s it, I guess. Quite a lot. I think I will be busy over the next few days. But you can look forward to many interesting post ;)

14.09. – 16.09.2013 – Weekend at Frankfurt

Last week, I went to Frankfurt with my sister. Like I have posted here, I decided spontaneously to go with my sister since she has planned it while I was in Augsburg.

Saturday, 14.09.2013:

Our bus was at 2pm, and about 4.45 pm we should arrive at the train station in Frankfurt. Our family friend Pelin would pick us up by car. After we have arrived, we walked to the outside entrance of McCafe and waited there for her. After a few minutes, she already appeared. We went to the hotel, because she had to use the WC.

The car ride was an adventure. Pelin didn’t know Frankfurt city very well by car, so she lost the way a few times, or missed the right street. But after finding out of the city, it wasn’t that hard to find our way back. We had to drive to a little old town near Hanau. As we arrived home, the dogs already greeted us wildly. Then we ordered pizza and ate dinner. After finishing, we had to get prepared, because we wanted to go clubbing. We decided for moon13, the former Cocoon club in Frankfurt.

I was finished very fast, but had to wait for my sister and Pelin. There was the same kind of party like on my birthday at Penthouse in Stuttgart. Free drinks from 10pm till midnight. We thought it would be the cheapest way to party in Frankfurt. However, we were a little bit too late, and didn’t get the free entry. We had to pay 10€, but still had the chance for one free drink, so it was okay.

The club was very nice from the location. Also the selection of music in the different floors was good. The first floor we went to was playing mixed music, and it was a smoker area. As we wanted to buy a drink from the bar, we noticed that it was too full, and we had no chance to get near the counter. Then my sister and I were shocked, because we saw little children there. They were barely 14 years old. We were annoyed and went back to Pelin, who was talking to a friend of her. He then told us to get our drinks at another floor. So we went to the Minimal-Floor. It was quite small, but brighter than the other floors. It was the most beautiful one in my opinion. But we didn’t stay long there. We were only waiting at the bar and ordering our drinks. My sister and I got the same, Vodka Cranberry. I also ordered a water for Pelin, because she had to drive the car, but the woman forgot about the water and continued serving the other guests. Then we were annoyed and left for another floor. Before we walked around a bit and looked for somewhere to sit. Then I saw the green combs that were famous for Cocoon Club, and now are part of moon13. We sat inside and took a few photos while my sister changed her shoes.

Sorry for the bad phone quality.

After that, we went to the Electro-House floor. It was the biggest floor and I liked it best there to really party and dance. I even climbed on the podest and danced there all alone while the others were under me.

My sister didn’t like it there, so we went to look for the Hip-Hop-floor. We didn’t know where it was, so we looked for Pelin’s cousin first, who had also arrived at the club. He was with his friend and they showed me where the hip-hop-floor was. This floor was also a smoker area, so it was very muggy in there. It was also the fullest floor I guess. We stayed there for a long while, but then it became too hot and we wanted to go out there. We wandered from floor to floor. My sister got annoyed from Pelin’s friend, because he wanted to impress my sister. At about 3.30 am we left the club and set out for home.

Pelin and my sister also wanted to stop at McDonald’s shortly, to get something to eat. I wasn’t hungry at all. At home, Pelin even ate the rest pizza from dinner. I had to laugh: She was stuffing herself with fast food before going to sleep :’D Sometimes, she can be quite crazy :D

Sunday, 15.09.2013:

The next morning, Pelin and her mother were preparing breakfast as I waked up. Pelin had to hurry up, because she had to go to help her boss at work. Normally, sunday is a free day for almost everyone in Germany because most of the shops and companies are closed. But some cafes or studios are still open on Sundays. She said she would be away only for 3-4 hours. Meanwhile, I went to take a shower and read “The Hunger Games”. As she arrived, we planned what to do at the evening. We decided to go to a hookah bar. But before, Pelin prepared dinner, because after she has arrived, her mother has gone to work. She made meatballs and fries. I was getting hungrier as the time passed further. Pelin’s mother arrived, and we sat down to eat.

After dinner we prepared to go out to the hookah bar. Pelin knew the owner of the bar, since he is fancying her. We ordered something to drink, and a hookah with lemon taste I think. I am actually not a big smoker, but I allowed myself some drags.

Here, the hookah has not arrived yet.

Since it was Sunday, a lot of people left early. We also didn’t stay long. At about midnight we left and went home. At home, my sister and Pelin’s sister were already too tired. They lay on the bed and half slept. I had a drink in the kitchen with Pelin and her mother, since this was our last day there. But at about 2 am we already started to get tired, and Pelin’s mother had to wake up early in the morning to go to work, so we all went to bed.

Monday, 16.09.2013:

We woke up a bit earlier that morning, because we wanted to go out a bit earlier. Our bus was at 3pm I think. We went a bit earlier, because we wanted to go shopping at Primark first. I bought some autumn/winter clohtes and accessoires, like pullovers, hat, handshoes, and scarve.

Unfortunately, I forgot in the meantime how many the clothes cost. So I can only tell you approximately how much I paid for them.

Penguin bonnet, About 5€
I loooove penguins!!! One of my favorite animals. And I am a fan of animal bonnets. they are so cute! The best thing to wear in winter. Isn’t the snout so endlessly cute? There was also a panda bonnet, but I decided for penguing because everyone seems to have a panda bonnet.
Tube Scarve, about 5€
Scarves are also clothing pieces that are lacking in my wardrobe
Leo-print Pullover, 16.95€ I think.
I love Leo-print, I love burgundy, and I need a lot of winter clothes, so I needed to buy this pullover.
Owl gloves, 2.50€
So cute! I love owls and had to buy them, since they also were so cheap.
Tights for about 3.95€.
After I ripped off three tights in the last few weeks (I know it’s so sad!!!) I decided that it was time to get new ones. This one is probably to extroverted to be worn here in Germany. People would look at me. Maybe I will only be able to wear it in England next year. But who knows, in my university town there are a lot of young people. They definitely don’t bother :)
purple Longsleeve, about 8.95€
I just needed a simple Longsleeve.
I think both were about 4 or 5 €.
Everytime I am in Primark, I buy jewellery.
Backpack, 14.95€ I think.
After I got my big white UO backpack for university on my birthday, I decided to get a smaller one for everyday since my back always hurts from one-sided bags, and since one bag has broken a few weeks ago :)
Backpacks forever!
Here, my complete haul again :)

I paid 52€ for everything, and I am really content with the things I have bought.

After shopping, we went to eat something at a turkish restaurant called Anatolya. My sister and Pelin wanted something big with meat, so they orderen Iskender. I ordered a Pide with cheese.

Unfortunately, my sister and Pelin were not pleased with their plate. The meat still contained some pieces of animal fat. They were so disgusted, that both of them left half of their plate. I finished mine, and was relieved that I didn’t order something with meat.

At about 2 pm we left the restaurant and went to the train station. Before we went to a shop because Pelin saw a nice cardigan she wanted to buy. And I have to mention that it was raining all day. When we got to the train station, the rain became stronger. But short before 3 we said goodbye to Pelin and went to the bust stops. After 5-10 minutes our bus came and we finally entered.

It was a nice trip again, and I really enjoyed this time better than last time I was there. Maybe I will be in Frankfurt soon again :) At the book fair!

Until then, I have to blog about many things ;)

Working in Augsburg: Day 5, Friday 13.September.2013 – Early Return

The morning started with packing the last things in my suitcase and finally a decent breakfast. We had more bread now, different kinds of cheese, and, FINALLY Nutella! How I’ve missed it in only a few days. I ate two slices of bread and then I got my suitcase and backpack and slowly went outside. The others arrived as well after a few minutes. Before, I asked Michael about my Malteser pass, and he told me that I could keep it :) Now I have it as a remembrance.

After everyone was outside, we waited for Michael. He overslept and was grumbling over Vera why she didn’t wake him up earlier. He was now moving downstairs to the room of Kim and Vera. When he finally was ready we walked to the cars and put everything inside. I enjoyed the car ride today because I didn’t think about working now. Nevertheless I was bothered with the trains, but I looked for the next trains to Stuttgart. I was relieved to see that there was a train every hour.

Arriving at the train station, Michael even asked if I will have to wait long for my next train. If so, I could come with them to the booth at first instead of waiting at the train station on myself. But I ensured him that there would be one in a few minutes. I said goodbye to him and to the other girls. They all were really cute and hugged me. I had about 20 minutes until the next train. I went to the train office and bought a ticket. Then I got me something to drink and waited outside for the train to arrive. Not even after 10 minutes it arrived and I entered it. The train was full. Fuller than on Monday as I left Stuttgart. I tried to read a few pages, but I was so tired that I fell asleep in the train. It was quite uncomfortable, because I had my suitcase beside my feet. I am just too weak to hieve it on the placement area above the seats. And I was too tired to ask someone, since almost everyone nearby were women. At least it seemed like that.

The train ride seemed so long, because I was so tired. But after not even 2 hours I arrived in Stuttgart. I hurried out the train to catch the other train to my hometown. It was almost noon when I finally arrived and jumped into a taxi. I was so relieved when I stood in front of my house. I went inside, ate something and then immediately fell into my bed to catch up 4 days of sleep.

When my sister arrived she told me that she would go to Frankfurt the next day. She wanted me to come with her. I agreed. she booked the ticket and I felt like a hitchhiker travelling around Germany :D Well, you couldn’t count Frankfurt as travelling anymore, because I have been there too often.

I was already so happy to be back that I would imagine home would be so nice to be at :3 But I was wrong: It got better! We had Lahmacun for dinner! A turkish dish, something like a wrap that is filled with mince :)

After dinner I stayed up a few hours to watch a series on TV. The turkish version of O.C. California. After that, I unpacked my suitcase I brought from Augsburg, so that I would only pack my backpack for Frankfurt the next morning. Our bus was at 2 pm. So it was neither too early, nor too late.

I went early to sleep that day, because I still was tired and still had to get up earlier for next day.

So this was my adventure with Malteser at talk2move. I don’t regret trying that out, but I am happy that I didn’t stay there for 4 weeks. Although I feel a little bit disappointed that nothing seems to work out this year, I still think that everything has its reason.

P.S.: My 90€ already arrived on my account :)
