Book Review: Galileo by Bertolt Brecht

Author: Bertolt Brecht

Original Title: “Leben das Galilei” (engl.: “Galileo”)

Published in: February 1st, 1998. Suhrkamp.

Genre: Drama, Classics

Page Count: 191 pages

A very interesting read that gives a clear insight into Galileo’s life and struggles with the church.
For me, this is more of an biographical drama than a fictional one. But still worth reading, and it even has some lyrical styles in forms of songs. The writing style is worth reading. The topic was also quite interesting for me, since I am seldon employed with history. By this, I got a great chance to learn more about an important historical person. Another proof that literature conveys general education as well.

This review is going to be a bit short. Basically, I just summarized everything above. The drama itself is quite short, so the review is also very short.

Overall rating – 4/5: Facts mixed with Art.
