Book review: 11 Minutes by Paulo Coelho

This book is great! Again, I was confirmed in considering Paulo Coelho as one of the best authors. 11 Minutes may seem like a story which is very different to Coelho’s other books, but it still tells a story in which a crucial life change happens. This is what I love most about Coelho’s books, they tell a story that could happen to every one of us, a story from which everyone of us can learn something, even though we might not be shepherds or a prostitutes.

The writing style of Coelho is fresh and easy to read. Especially the quotes in his books are wonderful! On every page there was a quote I’d rather had written down. Here are some:

“No one loses anyone, because no one owns anyone. That is the true experience of freedom: having the most important thing in the world without owning it”

“Really important meetings are planned by the souls long before the bodies see each other.”

“What do they expect? Having chosen adventure, shouldn’t they be prepared to go the whole way? Or do they think that the intelligent thing to do would be to avoid the ups and downs and spend all their time on a carousel, going round and round on the spot?”

The book is about love, sex, pain, and taking chances in life. I enjoyed this book so much, and can recommend it to everyone who likes reading about these topics, but also about a life-changing story.

I would like to explain more about the title of the book, but I will let that be a surpirse for you.

Has anyone of you already read this book? Or another book of Coelho?

How did you like it?

Thanks for reading!
