Film review: The impossible

Director: J.A. Bayona

Writers: Sergio G. Sánchez, María Belón (story)

Stars: Naomi Watts, Ewan McGregor,…

I have watched this movie after my brother has recommended it. Of course, it was a typical catastrope movie based on a real story about the Tsunami disaster in South-East Asia. It is a very emotional movie, however, it is nothing for weak persons who can’t see blod, injuries, crooked body parts, and suffering people.

What I liked most about this story was that it showed the destinies and stories of other families as well, likethe little blond boy, or the swedish family, or the guy with the cell phone. I often had tears in my eyes.

Once again I have to say that Naomi Watts did a great job in acting. I have seen a few films of her, and always liked her acting. I also think that she is very beautiful. In the end I was shocked when they showed how severely she got injured. She should have died normally, but the will for living didn’t let it happen.

What I disliked about the movie was firstly that there really was tok much injuries shown. But well, I guess that’s normal with a disaster movie. But I didn’t like it when the father let his two sons alone to search for his wife and other son. However, the end was quite satisfying and I had tears in my eyes again. Especially the little boys are so cute *o*

Final review – 7/10: I wouldn’t call it a must-see, but if you are in the mood of an exciting catastrophe movie with excellent actors, then this is the right choice for you.

  1. this movie was just wow. You are right about the injuries…way too strong and I had to even turn my face away in some of the scenes. I did cry, but like you said its not a movie for everyone. Great review! :)
