Movie Review: This is the end

Director: Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg

Screenplay: Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg

Cast: James Franco, Seth Rogen, Jonah Hill

Today, I have finally watched this movie I have been waiting so long, because of the funniest american comedians would be together in one movie, together with british Emma (who makes it in America now), all starring themselves! How awesome is that!?

Well, after watching this movie I can tell you that I was a bit disappointed. It started well, with the party in Franco’s house (whom I enjoyed the most, together with Jonah Hill and Emma Watson), with all the celebrities such as Rihanna, Jason Segel, Michael Cera (who was hilarious as well, but dies way too early), Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Aziz Ansari, and lot more. I was however quite disappointed from Seth and Jay. They really seemed very boring to me.

The movie had some funny scenes, but I was most of the time laughing half heartedly. They tried to build in as many weak jokes as possible, so that there were no real funny scenes. Like said before, I enjoyed the scenes with Michael Cena, then I enjoyed the ones with James Franco (but not all), I laughed in the Emma Watson-Harry potter scene in which they talk about not to rape Emma :’D and Channing Tatum’s mini role as SM slave was one of the funniest scenes :’D

However, I have expected more. The plot was quite religious to me, although it had kind of some moral in it, like trying to be always kind, not for the sake of expecting something back, but just for the sake of being kind. And this movie also shows that everyone can do mistakes, since we all are human after all, even celebrities. However, this subject somehow wasn’t so original to me, that I would say that it is something new. Also the mocking of Apocalypse or Horror Movies or even of celebrities themselves, was funny at some points, but nothing special.

Final rating – 6/10: Nice interaction of the actors, but shallow story. A must-watch for the end-scene though. I don’t want to tell it, but this was the most epic thing about it. Curious? Then you have to watch it ;)
