I’ll tell you, that’s one thing I hate about my nickname, the way that number runs on forever. It’s important in life to conclude things properly. Only then can you let go. Otherwise you are left with words you should have said but never did, and your heart is heavy with remorse.

“Life of Pi” [Yann Martel]: Pi about his grief because Richard Parker did not look back for goodbye.

  1. The actor who played older Pi was Irfan Khan – a fantastic actor(from Bollywood) – he eancted this scene beautifully.
One of the finest actors current Bollywood generation.
Loved the movie – yet to read the book – is it a must to read the book after watching the movie : do you recommend?

    1. I have never watched bollywood, but I liked him very much as an actor. The book is amazing! There are a lot of information about zoologists, animals, religions, nature and so on. More than is mentioned in the movie. But I wouldn’t say it is a bad adaption. The movie is one of the best literature adaptions in my opinion, though it lacks so much information. But I guess it would bore the audience, that’s maybe why they left it out. I would recommend it. It is an easy read, because the chapters are not so long. It really is beautifully written.

      1. Couple of my friends had this opinion : Book can get slightly boring in the parts where Pi is in the ocean ( that’s one reason this was popularly known as a book which is tough to adapt) – but i am willing to try and read the book per your recommendation. (by the way as of now i am reading high fidelity)

        1. I wouldn’t say that it is boring. I found it quite interesting. And the chapters are quite short, so the boredom can’t hold on any longer. I read far more boring books. The Lotr-series were quite boring I have to admit. Oh, I also want to read high fidelity some time :)

          1. i read Fellowship (LOTR 1) – recently – i admit it was a tough read – very detailed and at times i just wanted Frodo & Co to just get the hell out of the jungle :) (i looooove the LOTR movies including Hobbit part 1).
I am about 30 pages in High Fidelity – its really funny (also watch the movie if you haven’t – John Cusack and Jack Black – worth the money).

          2. Yes, I love the Lotr-movies and The hobbit as well. The movies are way better than the book series (At least this is for Lord of the Rings, since I haven’t read The hobbit yet).
I have watched High Fidelity, and liked it :) But I still want to read the book because I think that there is still more to the story :)
